Eight years ago I captured people in Chicago watching as Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.
On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President. Below are photos I captured hours after he was sworn in.
I saw this van three years ago.
I wonder what this person thinks of the next four years.
I want to begin again. Begin to fly again.
But why a photo of two phones?
The whole premise of this website is to communicate.
These photos are a hope communication and listening are the norm especially in the next four years.
I closed on a house not too long ago. I’m still moving things in, but one of the first things I did was give my grandmother’s rose bush a new home as well. It is now in the backyard of my new house.
It doesn’t look like much now, but if history tells me anything, the resiliencey of this plant will overcome any obstacle it faces, a symbol of how I want to live my life.
Life is full of patterns and humans are constantly trying to figure out what it all means and what those patterns will lead. It is what we do to survive.
We all do this everyday and not even know it. We stroll through life surrounded by so many patterns visible and invisible.
I often times wonder why.
Just the first of many photos from Good Friday.
